    Canon Character Section:
    History: The History of Bo.

    Personality:
Bo is a person who finds herself in a constant state of duality. She’s trying to fit herself between two worlds, human and Fae, Light and Dark, all part of her constant search for identity. She wants to be who she is, without having to fit herself into one box or be labeled, and that creates a lot of layers and interesting facets to her personality. Bo’s search for identity is a continuous thing for her, after not having it for so long, and she still doesn’t have all the pieces to the puzzle of who she is, but she’s slowly making the choices for herself, and has grown into a hero because of it.

For starters, Bo was left with humans by her Fae parents, and left with human ones. This resulted as her being raised as a church going, homespun girl from a small town, with no idea of her Fae heritage. In fact, until she hit puberty, she didn’t know that there was anything different about her. She was raised to believe in monogamy, that premarital sex was wrong, and if she partook in it, she would go to Hell. This did not leave her unsusceptible to the pressures of her boyfriend, either, and when she fed for the first time, she killed him. When she took this information to her parents, she was both shunned by them and informed that she was adopted. In that instance, Bo, or Beth at the time, lost her entire identity in one fell swoop, and ran, taking off to turn herself into something new.

Bo’s war with her succubus nature is something that continues to this day. She spent a long time killing people due to her lack of control and running to avoid the police that she never really had a home—not until she met Kenzi and found out what she really was. Once she was actually forced to stay put and deal with her Fae nature, we begin to see a different side of Bo and watch her become more of a person, and less someone who’s running. One of the most notable signs in that Bo doesn’t accept fully who she is, is that she is consistently fighting the polyamorous nature of a succubus. She’s had two monogamous relationships and does her best to stay true to them, even when her need to feed was so strong that she and Lauren needed to enter an open relationship for her to continue to feed properly.

Bo also is different from most Fae, not only due to the fact that she has yet to choose a side (we’ll get to that more later), but she also looks at human as people, rather than pets. While she may have claimed Kenzi so she could move about Fae society, that’s about protecting Kenzi, not about ownership. Bo doesn’t believe anyone, human or Fae, should be owned by anyone, and she believes that humans and Fae should work together as one society. As far as she’s concerned, humans are just as much people as Fae are, which has gotten her strange looks from some of the other Fae. This is mostly due to the fact that she’s raised by humans, but at the same time, it ties into something much larger than that, which also encompasses her refusal to choose a side.

Bo has spent so much of her life, believing that she didn’t have a choice in whether or not she was to be a monster, and has had so many choices taken from her, simply by not knowing what she was as she was raised. At the same time, this afforded her an opportunity that no other Fae get. When refusing to choose a side (which she mostly did out of spite for the way both the Light and Dark treated her when she was first thrust into her world), it put Bo in a unique position to float between sides, make contacts in both the Light and Dark camps, and use that to unite them. This also possibly has to do with the fact that she is descended from extremely powerful Fae (or so we are lead to assume) on both sides, she balances both sides of her powers and abilities by not leaning towards one side or the other. Also, it’s likely that she would have never been able to defeat the Garuda if she wasn’t unaligned.

On the other hand, this also earns her a great deal of enemies with no protection. Despite the friends she has, both Light and Dark, Bo is often on her own when it comes to facing her foes, and to an extent she prefers it that way. She will do whatever it takes to preserve her right to choose and sense of agency, even if that means taking on the Fae elders themselves.

Being a succubus, sex and Bo have a very complicated relationship. Spending ten years of your life waking up next to dead lovers is not the key to a healthy attitude with sex, but this isn’t to say that Bo doesn’t enjoy it. Once she learned what she is, as well as learning control, Bo is shown to have both a healthy appetite and appreciation for sex, as well as both a pansexual nature and a very open mind. She does still strive to be monogamous, but when she isn’t in a relationship, she’s been known to enter casual friends with benefits relationship so that she can feed, as well as enjoy the affection from someone she trusts. She rarely ever has one night stands unless they are to heal. However, learning control was also a double edged sword. During the years that she spent on her own, she learned to use her succubus powers to her advantage without realizing what they were or the damage that they’d cause to a person’s state of mind, particularly the ability to arouse someone with her touch. It took her some time to learn the right and wrong times to use that kind of influence, as well as the limits that she should place on them.

Bo isn’t particularly book smart, and was a high school dropout, but when she applies herself she can pick things up quickly, and actually come up with pretty decent plans. She’s rather street smart and knows how to manipulate people to her advantage when she needs to. At the same time, she doesn’t always think things through. When the fate of the world isn’t at risk, Bo can be known to run into things head first without a plan or a way out, especially when someone she loves is at risk. She will do whatever it takes to bring that person back, and this usually results in her making it up as she goes along. She is good at making it up as she goes, but that doesn’t necessarily make it a good idea either.

Bo is, above all, is a person with a good heart. She will do anything for her friends, and has actually been shown to be rather good at taking care of people. She is willing to see the good in anyone, Light or Dark, and she tries to judge people on their merits, not their clans. Not to say that if you show yourself to be a bad person, she won’t judge you for it, but she will judge you on your actions, not which side of the Fae you aligned yourself to. She also will do whatever it takes to do the right thing, even if it’s not a fight she asked for. If she feels like she has a responsibility to do what’s right, she will strive to do that thing to the best of her ability.

Upon arriving in Teleios, she will suddenly find herself stripped of all of the abilities that have been part of her life for so long, which means that she will be forced to deal with a few things that normal humans would that she has never dealt with before. Rejection, healing normally and still having to feed despite not having the advantages that would motivate her to do so are all going to be something that she will have to struggle with. Also, as a first for my characters, she is not going to want to be here, believing that she was dumped there by the Wanderer and wanting to find her way out and back home as soon as possible. This should definitely be an adventure.

Powers/Abilties: Bo is both Fae and a succubus which comes with a handy list of abilities. I also can’t say whether or not any of these abilities are standard for her species because Fae genealogy is weird. They are as follows:
  • Longevity - All the Fae live for a really long time. Some have definitive life spans, but I think in the case of Bo she lives as long as she keeps feeding well and regularly. Bo, however, is a baby Fae so she hasn’t really lived all that long yet.

  • Speed & Strength - Also because Bo is Fae she is naturally stronger and faster than the average human. She’s not “super” but she is more.

  • Feeding - Succubi feed on sexual energy or chi. Bo can suck a person’s chi from their body until they die, but usually to feed she just depletes them a bit. She doesn’t like to kill, even if she has done it in the past. Bo has also been shown to be able to feed from multiple donors at the same time. Also, feeding on Fae can give her an enhanced boost of strength, and she can also share power boosting spells or potions by feeding off the person using them.

  • Erotic Suggestion - I don’t even know what to really call it, but she’s capable of turning people on by touch and has been known to use that to her advantage to get information. She is basically the Spy Who Seduced You.

  • Healing - While feeding on your chi, Bo can use that to heal. The worse the injury, the more she needs, so if she needs to heal big time, she’s more likely to feed on Fae, but she’ll take any food source when needed. She can also heal other people by feeding their chi back to them, even when they’re past the brink of death. This is a post-Dawning thing, so it’s hard to say how often she can actually do that, but it is a thing that happened.

  • Blood Thrall - Since Bo is descended from a blood sage, her blood has special properties. If her blood gets into your system, you become one of Bo’s thralls. This means that you become a vehicle for Bo’s every want and desire. Her needs become your needs … you’re basically obsessed and in love with her. Too many thralls, however, can be bad for Bo and has been known to bring out her dark side.
